Les Anderson
Vice President
President of Twin City Idlers Car Club
Les Anderson has been a dedicated member of the Stanwood community since moving there in 1976. His passion for civic engagement began early when he attended his first City Council meeting to inquire about the city’s recent purchase of two Volvo police cars. In 1993, he was selected to fill a vacant City Council seat, where he served until 2001. He then transitioned into public service as Stanwood’s Public Works Supervisor, a role he held until 2008.

Les joined the Stanwood Chamber of Commerce in 2019 with a clear goal—to bring more events to the community. When the Chamber dissolved in 2021, he was one of three individuals who remained, leading to the founding of the Stanwood Commerce Alliance (SCA).

Known as an event visionary, Les has played a key role in shaping some of Stanwood’s most beloved traditions. As President of the Twin City Idlers car club, he has helped grow the Twin City Idlers Car Show into one of the largest in the Pacific Northwest. He is also the driving force behind the Christmas Big Rig Truck Cruise and has even more event ideas in the works.

Les firmly believes that when businesses succeed, the city thrives. His dedication to fostering economic growth and community engagement continues to make a lasting impact in Stanwood.
